Question 26: About origin of goods

When processing customs clearance, if there is no “MADE IN JAPAN” on commodities, the process will be stopped. We explained that our commodities had various origins, according to the standard, they could not be stamped “MADE IN JAPAN”; however, that explanation was not accepted and finally, we had to follow the customs’ instruction. Despite of commodities’ various origins, we must show MADE IN JAPAN on them, we are so confused. After investigation, we find that only Ho Chi Minh City’s (HCMC) customs requires this, therefore, we request the right solution.
Customs Department

Currently, the identification of the commodities’ origin based on C/O and the result of actual check. There is no requirement of MADE IN JAPAN on commodities.
