Top local rice makes inroads in Canadian market
Kevin Le, CEO of KD Trading, revealed that in order to import Vietnam’s ST25 rice into Canada, the company conducted a careful market survey and devised specific and long-term competitive strategies for ST25 rice.
He therefore attributed his selection of ST25 rice for the Canadian market to its premium rice with a special quality, adding that the company is very proud to be the only partner to introduce the delicious rice, which has won the world’s best rice title, to both Vietnamese people as well as Asian consumers based in Canada.
Insiders have pointed out that the event has not only helped the nation’s leading rice brand to expand its market abroad, but also contributes to further increasing the market share of local high-quality rice in the Canadian market.
Tran Thu Quynh, trade counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada, said Vietnamese rice has grown very strongly after five years of implementing the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Previously, Vietnamese rice exports to Canada only reached less than US$6 million per year. After five years of implementing the trade pact, Vietnamese exports to the area doubled last year, she added.
Currently, the nation’s ST25 rice has officially hit the shelves of retailers in Canada. With thorough preparations made by KD Trading, high-quality ST25 rice is predicted to affirm its position in the market rapidly, thereby further helping agricultural production to take a step forward as part of the international supply chain.
