Tetra Pak inaugurates expanded aseptic packaging plant in HCM City
The expansion equips the factory with cutting-edge technology and significantly boosts its competitiveness. With this development, the plant’s annual production capacity now exceeds 30 billion cartons, spanning 15 new packaging formats.
It is set to serve key regional markets including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand. Notably, over 55% of its output will be supplied to the domestic market, enhancing Vietnam’s self-sufficiency in packaging and the F&B (food and beverage) industry.
Adolfo Orive, President and CEO of Tetra Pak Global, highlighted that the expansion underlines the company’s long-term commitment to Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific. With focus on innovation, modern production, and sustainable practices, Tetra Pak is expected to continue to support the growth of both the country and the wider region, he said.
Speaking at the ceremony, Bui Minh Thanh, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, praised the investment, saying Tetra Pak’s continued expansion in Vietnam is a strong testament to the close connection between foreign-invested enterprises and national development, particularly in the areas of food technology and innovation. It is also a positive signal amid the deepening strategic partnership between Vietnam and Sweden in science, technology, and innovation.
Since its launch in 2019, the Tetra Pak plant in Vinh Tan has employed more than 350 workers and is among the first factories in Vietnam to receive LEED Version 4 Gold Certification, a global benchmark for green building standards.
