Fine art ceramic exports in November hit highest level

Vietnam’s fine art ceramic exports in November reached the highest level over the past year with US$18.0 million, representing an increase of 30.9% from the previous month, according to figures given by the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Fine art ceramic exports during the 11-month period dropped by 37.5% to US$131.85 million against the same period from last year.

The 10-month fine art ceramics exports to the EU account for 34.7% of the country’s total export turnover,  hitting US$39.46 million, a decline of 39.3% on-year.

Among the markets in the EU bloc, the market share of Vietnamese fine arts ceramics in Denmark makes up the largest proportion.

Meanwhile, fine art ceramic exports to the United States during the 10-month period accounted for 32.9% of the country’s total export turnover with US$37.40 million, down 48.3% on-year.

In the US market, the nation currently ranks fifth behind the likes of China, Portugal, Mexico, Italy, and Thailand, with its market share over the past nine months of the year falling to 3.1% compared to fourth place when the figure was at 4.2% during the same period last year.

Vietnamese exports of fine-art ceramics ahead over the coming months are anticipated to continue encountering numerous challenges.

According to industry insiders, in addition to traditional export markets, local businesses are required to focus on tapping into other markets such as China, India, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), and Brazil.
